The Mr. Pizza Story

Mr. Pizza opened for business in 1975 on Rawsonville Road in Belleville, MI. It was a small store, being in the middle of a four bay car wash. In the 70's, Dinos Pizza was a popular franchise in southeastern Michigan. Tony Fry owned and operated Dino's Pizza in Ypsilanti on West Cross and later Dino's Pizza in Westland which later was moved to it's current location on Cherry Hill in Garden City. Bob Vick began as a delivery driver in 1980. When Tony bought the Mr. Pizza store in Belleville in 1981, he knew Bob was the right man to manage it. By 1984 Bob and Tony were partners. Tony had renamed all his pizzerias to Mr. Pizza and opened a fourth Mr. Pizza on Ecorse Rd in Ypsilanti. Other locations followed, Ann Arbor, South Lyon, Canton, a 3rd Ypsilanti location on Michigan Ave, a 2nd Belleville location on Haggerty Rd. & Whitmore Lake. In 2000 they moved the very small 211 West Cross store to the much larger existing location at 1484 Washtenaw, to better serve Eastern Michigan University. There have been several menu additions throughout the years. Salads, Subs, Hoagies & Grinders, Appetizers, Dinners, Breadsticks, Smoothies & thier newest addition, Gourmet Burgers and Grilled Chicken Sandwiches. The menu now tops 100 selections, all of which can be delivered. Mr Pizza has been offering a great product at a great price, with exceptional service for over 35 years.
